Welcome to Saalbach Hinterglemm, or as the Hinterglemmers’ would say Hinterglemm Saalbach!!
The winter season 2009/10 is upon us now and snow is currently falling heavily with 40cm at the last count this morning (02.02.10) and still carrying on through the night!
The snow in Austria in 2009 was the best in Europe, making the snow in Saalbach ski-able late into April. We have high hopes for this winter season, and due to more and more investment by the local authorities and the Lift company we can honestly say we are “Snowsure” and will be ready for the ski opening at the end of November. Keep your eye on the Saalbach Webcam, and you will see for yourself as we get closer how much snow we have.
Saalbach Hinterglemm’s reputation is growing rapidly on the International stage, with it’s achievements being recognised by the press and other organisations within the ski world. Saalbach Hinterglemm has just been awarded the prestigious prize by the “where to ski guide 2010”, for the most investment of any ski resort in Europe.
The Resort
The resort stretches through the Glemmtal Valley, making the skiing available on both sides of the valley, totally linked, hence the “Ski Circus” With approximately 200km of pisted runs serviced by 60 lifts, it really can be classed as a skiers paradise. Piste Map
To accompany the skiing, the resort has over 40 mountain restaurants, from Self service through to a la Carte, taken on a sunny terrace, or a cosy corner sat round the “Stamm Tisch”
